Why downtime is brutal here.

Refineries are continuous-process plants where a single trip cascades into a multi-day restart and a multi-million-dollar margin loss.

  • Continuous operations. Process units start and stop on a multi-day cycle; no soft-restart exists.
  • Critical rotating-equipment trains. Process compressors, FCC main air blowers, and reactor charge pumps are long-lead, single-point-of-failure assets.
  • Inspection and turnaround windows. Findings outside scope blow the turnaround critical path.
  • HSE exposure. Hydrocarbon release events combine production loss with regulatory and insurance consequences.
