Vibration Analysis — signature, then schedule.

Spectral diagnostics on rotating equipment. Bearing wear, imbalance, misalignment, and looseness identified from signature analysis on motors, pumps, compressors, fans, and gearboxes — captured against ISO 10816 zone limits and twenty years of reference data.

§ What it detects

Failure signatures we identify.

DETECTS · 01

Bearing wear, imbalance, misalignment, looseness

  • Bearing wear — inner race, outer race, ball/roller, cage frequencies surfaced via envelope demodulation before audible failure.
  • Imbalance — 1× running speed dominant in spectrum; correctable in-situ via dynamic balancing.
  • Misalignment — 2× / 3× running-speed harmonics with characteristic phase behavior; resolved by laser-alignment follow-up.
  • Looseness, resonance, gear-mesh defects — multiple-harmonic patterns, sidebands at running speed, and gear-mesh frequency peaks indexed against the asset's signature library.
§ Methodology

Three analytical methods, one diagnostic.

METHOD · 01

FFT
spectral analysis

Fast Fourier Transform applied to time-domain signals from accelerometer and velocity sensors. Spectrum is indexed against known fault frequencies — bearing geometries, running speeds, gear-mesh, and electromagnetic — to localize the failure mode.

METHOD · 02

Time
waveform

Raw time-domain trace inspected for impacts, transients, and amplitude modulation that the spectrum can smooth over. Used to confirm bearing impacts and severity in advanced wear cases.

METHOD · 03

Envelope
demodulation

High-frequency carrier signal demodulated to surface low-energy bearing defects that don't yet show in the standard spectrum. Droz's early-warning method on critical rotating assets.

§ Standards applied

Anchored to the standards your auditors trust.

ISO 10816

Mechanical vibration
evaluation

Severity thresholds for rotating-machinery vibration assessed against ISO 10816 zones A–D. Decisions to alert, schedule, or shut down anchor to the standard.

CMVA

Canadian Machinery
Vibration Association

Droz vibration analysts hold CMVA certification; programs follow CMVA category protocols for data collection, analysis, and reporting.

§ Reporting cadence

Routes are walked on a cadence calibrated to asset criticality — typically monthly on production-critical rotating equipment, quarterly on balance-of-plant. Each route produces a per-asset report with spectrum, time-waveform, envelope trace, severity grade, and recommended action. Severity exceedances are dispatched same-day into your CMMS and chat channels; the periodic report is rolled up into the corporate reliability dashboard.
