§ What it corrects

Conditions we resolve.

CORRECTS · 04

Misalignment, coupling wear, seal failure, vibration

  • Shaft misalignment — parallel offset, angular offset, and compound misalignment between driver and driven shafts corrected to within OEM tolerance under operating thermal growth.
  • Coupling wear — premature failure of flexible couplings, gear couplings, and diaphragm couplings caused by sustained misalignment loading, eliminated at root cause.
  • Seal failure — mechanical seal life on pumps and compressors compromised by shaft misalignment, restored to OEM expectation through precision realignment.
  • Vibration-driven downtime — the 2× / 3× misalignment harmonics flagged by vibration analysis resolved through corrective alignment, closing the loop between diagnostic and repair.
§ Methodology

Pre-alignment, laser correction, thermal compensation.

METHOD · 01

Pre-alignment
checks

Soft-foot detection and correction, base condition, pipe strain assessment, and bearing-clearance verification before any laser reading is taken. Foundation conditions determine alignment durability.

Laser shaft
alignment

Dual-laser or projection-laser instruments measure parallel and angular misalignment to micron resolution. Live-move guidance directs shimming and lateral correction in-situ — operator sees the target in real time.

METHOD · 03

Thermal-growth
compensation

Cold-alignment targets set to compensate for thermal growth from cold start to operating temperature — so the running alignment is correct, not just the cold alignment.

Shaft alignment
recommended practice

Tolerances and methodology aligned to ANSI / ASA S2.75 shaft-alignment recommended practice.

OEM

OEM tolerance
specifications

Final alignment validated against the equipment OEM's published tolerance — couplings, motors, pumps, and compressors are aligned to the manufacturer's spec, not generic shop tolerances.

ISO 9001

Quality management

Delivered under the firm's ISO 9001-aligned QMS — alignment routes, soft-foot reports, and final cold/hot alignment certificates under change control.

§ Reporting cadence

Laser alignment is scheduled in response to specific triggers — newly installed equipment, post-overhaul commissioning, vibration findings indicating misalignment, or seal/coupling failures. Each alignment produces a per-asset certificate: pre-alignment readings, soft-foot diagnostics, corrective shimming record, and final cold/hot alignment with thermal-growth compensation. Reports land in the reliability data platform alongside the asset's vibration history.
